Hochul sworn in as governor

At a procedural ceremony at midnight on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, Kathy Hochul was sworn in as the 57th governor of the state of New York.

Hochul, who had served as Andrew Cuomo’s lieuenant governor, takes over for Cuomo, who resigned from his position as governor on Aug. 23, following damaging reports of sexual harassment of women within his administration. (Submitted)
